- This layer depicts the areas having a severe risk of damage as a result of earthquake induced ground shaking, slope failure, settlement, soil liquefaction, or surface faulting. Information was extracted from the various source layers based on queries that identified poorly drained soils with greater than 50% silt and very little course material; loose sand or gravel, peat, artificial fill and landslide materials; and soil units with a high organic content. Special conditions or standards may apply to development in areas subject to seismic hazards
