This polygon data layer represents public lands for Colorado in 2003. The dataset was originally published by the Colorado Department of Transportation on Decemebr 31, 2003.[Features in this dataset represent general land ownership by categories. These categories include: Private ownership, State Land Board, US Forest Service, National Park Service. Features are represented by polygon geographic shapes. This layer is also known as 'land status'.]
Purpose
This layer is intended for reference and mapping purposes and may be used for basic applications such as viewing, querying, and map output production or to provide a basemap to support graphical overlays and analysis with other spatial data. [Used for general reference, geoprocessing, and cartography.]
