- This polygon data layer represents air operations areas for Wisconsin in 2019. The dataset was originally published by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation on March 1, 2019.[Wisconsin Air Operations Areas (AOA)]
- Purpose
- This layer is intended for reference and mapping purposes and may be used for basic applications such as viewing, querying, and map output production or to provide a basemap to support graphical overlays and analysis with other spatial data. [The Bureau of Aeronautics manages spatial features and attribute data for the air operations areas buffer zones at each public use airport within the State of Wisconsin. The airport operating area for each airport has been developed by WisDOT and are based on requirements outlined in FAA Advisory Circular (AC) 150/5200-33B. This data is intended to provide general guidance and a geospatial reference for managing land use and wildlife hazard issues in and around Wisconsin public-use airports, specifically to make contractors and consultants aware of these areas as they pertain to off-airport construction or excavation projects.]
