- This line data layer represents public highways for Illinois in 2008. The dataset was originally published by the Illinois Department of Transportation in 2008.[This coverage contains highway related information included in the IDOT Illinois Highway Information System (IHIS) --Illinois Roadway Information System (IRIS). Information is collected for all public highways as defined in Illinois Compiled Statutes (605 ILCS 5/2-202). A separate coverage is provided for each the 102 counties.]
- Purpose
- This layer is intended for reference and mapping purposes and may be used for basic applications such as viewing, querying, and map output production or to provide a basemap to support graphical overlays and analysis with other spatial data.
