Abstract
This polygon data layer represents elementary school districts for Wisconsin in 1999. The dataset was published by the Legislative Technology Services Bureau on January 12, 1999 using data from the United States Census Bureau. [This data layer is a polygon shapefile of the elementary (K-8) school districts in Wisconsin, derived from 1992 TIGER line files, and the Wisconsin DNR's landnet coverage. It is referenced to the Wisconsin Transverse Mercator (WTM) projection system, North American Datum 1983 with the 1991 adjustment (NAD83/91).]
Purpose
This layer is intended for reference and mapping purposes and may be used for basic applications such as viewing, querying, and map output production or to provide a basemap to support graphical overlays and analysis with other spatial data. [This data layer is for use in generalized mapping applications. The level of accuracy does not support detailed local analysis. The data layer is intended for use with GIS software.]

Description
[1992 TIGER line files were unpacked using Arc/Info. Boundaries were updated from 1995-1998 by school districts submitting boundary changes on hard-copy maps on a voluntary basis. The changes were made using Arc/Info, with both TIGER and WI-DNR landnet as base coverages. The original coverage was referenced to WTM27. It was reprojected into WTM83/91, and an ESRI shapefile was created from this coverage.]
