Abstract
This line data layer represents hydrography for Waupaca County, Wisconsin in 2014. It is a feature class within the geodatabase, Waupaca_HydroLine_2014.gdb. [The hydrography coverage was created to represent rivers, water bodies and other hydrographic phenomena in Waupaca County. Hydrologic features were derived from the May 1994 flight with a flight height of 10,000 feet. The hydrologic feature layer is available in a county-wide or individual layer for each township, city, or village. The layer is based on the Waupaca County Coordinate System (WCCS).]
Purpose
This layer is intended for reference and mapping purposes, and may be used for basic applications such as viewing, querying, and map output production, or to provide a basemap to support graphical overlays and analysis with other spatial data. [Hydrology data provides consultants, planners, resource managers and other county staff with information on the location of hydrologic boundaries within Waupaca County.]
Supplemental Information
For additional information, please see original license/data sharing agreement where applicable. Augmented original metadata with UW-Madison specific elements. For online dataset download, please visit http://www.co.waupaca.wi.us/landinformation/Data.aspx [The hydro layer contains basic water body classification codes. The codes are based on "Lake Shoreline Classification Study" by the Discovery Group, based out of Madison Wisconsin. Hardcopy of report is available from the Waupaca County Zoning Department. The spring of 1994 was a wet year, so the hydro layer contains many features that are no longer open water. The hydro layer also contains features that would be considered wetlands. Currently there is no code to differentiate between open water and wetland.]
