- This data layer represents sidewalks in the City of Madison, Wisconsin in 2023. [Sidewalk and Pedestrian Facilities. Includes sidewalks, crosswalks, and other walkways. Features are coded for disabled access. Generally based on most recent orthophotos and Google Street View.Off Street Type (Off_Type)Connecting Route (CP) Link from a sidewalk/path to a road centerlines in a location that is not a legal crosswalk.Crosswalk (CW) Legal marked or unmarked crosswalk. Unmarked crosswalks are routes extending straight across a road, perpendicular to the road centerline, from where a sidewalk end abuts a roadway at an intersection and no marked crosswalk is available, whether or not there is a sidewalk on the opposite side.Hiking Path (H) Hiking paths or trails. Paths or trails, generally unpavedMunicipal Lot (ML) Pedestrian route through a parking lotPedestrian Path (P) Walking path that is not alongside a street.
