- Abstract
- This data layer represents parcels for Washington County, Wisconsin in 2014. It is a feature class within the geodatabase "Washington_Parcels_2014.gdb". [Tax parcel map of areas in Washington County except the City of West Bend. This data was obtained from two major sources. The complete Town of Erin and the Village of Slinger Planning area (14 sections) were compiled using coordinate geometry from source documents through a contract with Fieldtech administered by the Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission (SEWRPC). The remaining areas were compiled using coordinate geometry from source documents through a contract with Smart Data Solutions (SDS) inc. All areas are maintained by Washington County GIS, A Division of the Planning and Parks Department. In addition to tax parcels, this map includes municipal boundaries, congressional township boundaries, government lots, PLSS sections, PLSS quarter sections, subdivisions, CSM's, condominiums, rights of way, and managed forest.]
- Purpose
- This layer is intended for reference and mapping purposes, and may be used for basic applications such as viewing, querying, and map output production, or to provide a basemap to support graphical overlays and analysis with other spatial data. [The primary purpose of this digital tax parcel mapping is to manage the tax assessment system as it relates to land ownership. These data are also used in a variety of other county applications requiring land ownership information.]
